Today, the amendments became effective, through which Kazakhstan citizens will be able to get driver’s licenses in the specializes citizen service centers of “Government for Citizens” Public Corporation without training in driving schools and being bound to place of residence. The new rules apply to driver’s licenses of “A” and “B” categories, as well as “А1” and “В1” sub-categories
The amendments facilitating the procedures for obtainment of driver’s licenses by citizens were made to the Order on endorsement of rules for registration and recording of vehicles. “While previously, being registered at place of residence in, say, Petropavlovsk, you had to go there to renew your driver’s license, now you may obtain this document in the specialized CSC in any city you are staying at the moment”, Nurbek Orshubekov, Deputy Chairman of “Government for Citizens” Public Corporation says. “The novelty allows considerably saving service recipients’ time and money”.
Note that to get a driver’s license, you need to submit the health certificate in 083/У form. By the way, medical examination can be undergone in the specialized CSCs’ buildings where there are doctors’ rooms, as well as Psychiatrist’s and Drug Therapist’s rooms.
To be issued driver’s license, an applicant must pass two exams: theoretical one consisting of 40 questions, and practical one that includes 12 exercises on the testing track. Each applicant can try to pass the exam up to three times. In the event that all three attempts are unsuccessful, the applicant shall be allowed to take the exam again in six months after the latest one.
Currently, the fee-based services are provided in 11 specialized citizen service centers: in Astana, Almaty, Karaganda, Taraz, Aktau, Pavlodar, Petropavlovsk, Kyzylorda, Taldykorgan, Kostanai, and Aktobe. Since the year-beginning, over 94,636 services of issuance of driver’s licenses have been rendered there.
