Khabar agency consists of three TV channels that broadcasts in Kazakh, Russian and English. They are: Khabar, the first national satellite channel KAZAKH TV and information channel Khabar 24.
The history of the "Khabar" Agency begins in 1995. It was created on the basis of the Kazakh TV information service. Management body is Board of Directors, which is composed of 7 members, 3 of whom are independent directors. Executive Body is the Management Board.
Average daily broadcasting: Khabar - 20 hours; KazakhTV - 24 hours and Khabar 24 - 24 hours.
The agency has a well-developed correspondent network in regions of the country as well as neighbouring countries and beyond. Representative offices are opened in the US, Austria, Great Britain, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Belarus, and Ukraine.
Channels` broadcast schedules include news, series, feature and documentary movies and programs meeting the requests of the most sophisticated audience. No less than 55% of average daily broadcasting is in the national language.
From the very beginning, Khabar agency is an active participant of international TV community and member of major media associations. In 1998, Khabar became a full-fledged member of Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union (ABU), whose mission is to support radio and TV broadcasters` collective interests and to assist in regional and international cooperation among them. One hundred and two organizations from fifty two countries of the region are members of Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union. In 2004, it was decided to join “Eurasian TV and Radio Academy” International Nonprofit Organization (ETRA) as a corporate member. ETRA activities are aimed at developing eurasianism, preserving open information and cultural environment of Eurasian region countries and international cooperation in the field of media. Since 1998, Khabar Agency has been a participant in annual Eurasian TV Forum taking place under TV Academy. Cooperation issues, mass media role and trends of media sphere development are discussed on the World Congress of Russian Press (WCRP) where Khabar Agency is a member. Annually, heads of over 500 mass media organizations from almost 70 countries attend the congress.
Khabar agency is a member of Organization of Asia-Pacific News Agencies (OANA) and Asia-Pacific Institute for Broadcasting Development (AIBD) as well. In 2013, cooperation agreement was signed with Euronews, a major European TV holding, and Khabar joined Euronews Network association.
In 2015 "Khabar" Agency celebrated its 20th anniversary. These two decades of creative work of the Agency brought the government, international and professional awards. The work of journalists was nominated for the prestigious television award EMMY, and one of the reports received the Grand Prix at the contest "Golden Verb" in Russia. There is also a victory in the competition of the Eurasian Academy of Television and Radio (Russia), medal of "Peter the Great" for significant contribution to the development of information and cultural space of Eurasia. Higher international professional awards were awarded to employees of the sports edition. Recently, Khabar at the international festival in Sevastopol became the winner of the historical film "Bauyrzhan Momyshuly".
